# Update a tariff

PATCH https://api.ocpplab.io/cpo/tariffs/{tariff_id}
Content-Type: application/json

Changes only the fields sent; ``currency`` and ``elements`` cannot be cleared. Sessions already started keep their price. Partner tariffs are read-only (409).

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer <token>`, where token is your auth token.

### Path parameters

- `tariff_id` (string, required) — OCPI tariff id.

### Headers

- `If-Match` (string, optional, nullable) — Optional. The ``last_updated`` value you read; the write is refused with 412 if the object changed since.

### Body (application/json)

This endpoint expects a TariffUpdateRequest.

- `currency` (string, optional, nullable)
- `type` (enum, optional, nullable) — OCPI TariffType stored on ocpp.ocpp_tariffs.type.
  - Allowed values: `AD_HOC_PAYMENT`, `PROFILE_CHEAP`, `PROFILE_FAST`, `PROFILE_GREEN`, `REGULAR`
- `tariff_alt_text` (list of CpoOcpiDisplayTextInput, optional, nullable)
- `tariff_alt_url` (string, optional, nullable)
- `min_price` (OcpiPriceInput, optional, nullable)
- `max_price` (OcpiPriceInput, optional, nullable)
- `preauthorize_amount` (TariffUpdateRequestPreauthorizeAmount, optional, nullable)
- `tax_included` (enum, optional, nullable) — OCPI tax flag stored on ocpp.ocpp_tariffs.tax_included.
  - Allowed values: `YES`, `NO`, `N/A`
- `elements` (list of OcpiTariffElementInput, optional, nullable)
- `start_date_time` (datetime, optional, nullable)
- `end_date_time` (datetime, optional, nullable)
- `energy_mix` (OcpiEnergyMixInput, optional, nullable)
- `ocpi_version` (enum, optional, nullable) — OCPI version string stored on the tariff row.
  - Allowed values: `2.1.1`, `2.2.1`, `2.3.0`
- `expected_revision` (integer, optional, nullable)

## Errors

### 400 Bad Request Error

The tariff is inconsistent, e.g. it would end before it starts; or: If-Match is not a last_updated timestamp

### 401 Unauthorized Error

Missing or invalid Bearer token

### 404 Not Found Error

Tariff not found for your organization

### 409 Conflict Error

Received from a roaming partner; read-only; or: expected_revision is stale: the object changed since you read it

### 412 Precondition Failed Error

If-Match no longer matches: the object changed since you read it

### 422 Unprocessable Entity Error

### 429 Too Many Requests Error
