# Cancel a reservation

POST https://api.ocpplab.io/booking/bookings/{booking_id}/cancel
Content-Type: application/json

Moves a PENDING or RESERVED reservation to CANCELED. Send `{}`, or an OCPI `canceled` object to record why.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — Bearer authentication of the form `Bearer <token>`, where token is your auth token.

## Request

### Path parameters

- `booking_id` (string, required) — OCPI id of the reservation.

### Query parameters

- `country_code` (string, required) — OCPI country code of the party that owns the row, e.g. NL.
- `party_id` (string, required) — OCPI party id of the party that owns the row, e.g. OCP.

### Headers

- `Idempotency-Key` (string, required) — A unique key you choose for this call, e.g. a UUID. Retrying with the same key returns the first result instead of acting twice.

### Body (application/json)

This endpoint expects a CancelBooking.

- `canceled` (BookingCancel, optional, nullable) — OCPI cancellation object.

### 401 Unauthorized Error

Missing or invalid Bearer token

The reservation's current status does not allow this action

Gateway rate limit reached; retry after the given seconds
